How pure is a CBD isolate? (Very)

Cannabidiol isolate… could this sound more complex? Before signing up for a biochemistry course to help achieve enlightenment, continue reading and let’s extract an explanation.

That one set the table, because extraction is exactly what’s happening here. Natural cannabis comes with a plant structure that features over 100 active cannabinoids aside from CBD, in addition to terpines and fatty acids. When the CBD compound is extracted and isolated, the resulting product is CBD in its purest form – CBD isolate. While this removes the potential synergistic interplay of the whole plant’s many compounds, it also removes any trace of THC. Although the trace amounts of THC located in full spectrum CBD products are minimal to the point of delivering no psychoactive effects, many users prefer to play it pure – and CBD isolate is 99% pure.

What does this look like? Depending on the product, CBD isolate comes in a few different forms: powdered, wax, or crystallized. This product can then be ingested or applied a number of ways.

Within the CBD community, vaping remains a popular delivery method for CBD isolate due to the rapid bioavailability of inhaling vapor. CBD crystal isolate is also particularly ideal for making edibles given its propensity for dissolving into butter and oils.

If CBD purity is what’s important to your experience, then only using legitimate lab-tested products should be too. We’ve taken out the guesswork so you can feel good while filling your cart. Enjoy!
