How to Fix a Broken CBD JUUL System

Most of us JUUL users rely on this device daily, which is why when something goes wrong with the unit, it’s not unusual to feel a sense of panic.  Once a JUUL CBD System breaks, we’re suddenly stuck without the ability to take those puffs of nicotine that we crave.

Good thing is that in many cases, a broken JUUL is not the end of the world.  There are certain situations in which you can fix the issue so that you can go back to enjoying your vapes in no time.  And of course, in the worst-case scenario, you can replace it, as JUULs are widely available and relatively inexpensive.

Take Your JUUL Apart

To fix an internal issue, you need to have access to the internal mechanisms within the device.  This means that you’ll need to remove the battery from the chassis.  To do this, you have two options.

  • Using a small, blunt object to push the LED light inward.  This will loosen the battery so that it can be slid out of the chassis.
  • Using that same blunt object to push the battery out from either the top or the bottom of the chassis.

Both methods require patience and effort, because JUUL batteries were not designed to be easily removed.

Examine the Internals to See if Something is Broken or Dirty

Now, you can gently pop the top cap off of the battery, which will expose its internal network of circuits. Look inside to see if there is anything noticeably wrong. Maybe there’s some juice gunk in there caused by a leak from the pod. Perhaps a wire is clearly loose or damaged. You don’t know until it’s examined.

Assess the Situation and Correct it Accordingly

Now that you can get a good look at what’s going on inside your JUUL, you can assess the situation to decide how to correct it, if you can correct it. Problems with cleanliness can be remedied with a cotton swab and some rubbing alcohol. If the problem involves something that’s physically broken, that’s going to be tougher, as few people have the experience and resources needed to fix actual circuitry.

Certain Situations

But, if you want to try fixing a JUUL before running to the store to replace it, here are some situations in which a broken JUUL may be remedied.

Battery Isn’t Connecting to the Charger

One of the most common issues relating to a broken JUUL is the inability for the device to connect to the charger.  JUUL batteries have relatively low capacities, which means that we have to charge them regularly.  The LED light on the battery tells us when the device needs to be charged.  What happens though, if we put our device on the charger, and nothing happens?

You’ll know that your battery isn’t charging when the LED light doesn’t respond to being connected to the charger.  If this happens, you’ll want to look at the base of the JUUL, where the metal battery connection is.  Most often, it won’t connect to the charger because it’s dirty rather than broken.  So, take a cotton swab and dip it into some rubbing alcohol, and gently but thoroughly clean it.  Then, try again.

If this doesn’t work, consider that maybe the connections on the charger are dirty.  Suspect then, that this may be the case, then use the same cleaning process on the charging tray.  If that method fails , there may be structural damage to either the device or the charger, or, in rare cases, both.  At this point, it may be better to replace the JUUL system altogether, since you can’t really fix broken metal connections on your own.  Even if you can, the time and energy required to do so is likely not worth it.

External Chassis is Dirty

The chassis refers to the frame that wraps around the battery, that you actually handle when you’re using your JUUL device.  Overtime, the chassis can most certainly become dirty, and if dirt and oil seeps into the battery through the chassis, this can lead to problems.  The good news is that cleaning the chassis is easy.  It’s the same process as the one you’d use when cleaning the battery connections, as described earlier.  All that you need is a cotton swab and some rubbing alcohol.  Be thorough, as there’s usually more grime and oil on your device than your eye can detect.

External Chassis is Broken

If you have dropped your device, you may have a chip or a scratch on the chassis.  This can’t really be remedied, unfortunately.  You would have to replace the chassis itself.  So, the only way to do that is to buy a new device altogether, since JUUL does not manufacture replacement chassis pieces.

Consider Replacing the Device or Sending it to the Company

Again, JUULs are not made for being taken apart and worked on. So, if the JUUL is legitimately broken, it probably makes more sense to either replace the device altogether, or send it to the manufacturer. Replacing it is fairly easy as JUUL products are available in most convenience stores. Sending it back to the manufacturer allows them to replace it for you as long as it’s within the warranty. So, consider this option if you’re strapped for cash. Bear in mind, too, that sometimes a JUUL stops working simply because it’s too old.

Sometimes that JUUL Pod System Can Be Repaired Afterall

While JUUL devices are designed to be durable and reliable, that doesn’t mean that they aren’t capable of breaking. Thus, taking away your ability to get in that salt-based nicotine when you want it.  If you’re dealing with a broken JUUL due to external damage, use this guide to see if you can fix the issue yourself.

Fix It or Replace: The Choice is Yours

Fixing the internal part of a JUUL may be challenging if you don’t know what you’re doing.  Or, you may find that fixing it yourself is a rewarding experience that’s worth the effort.  Either way, if you’re going to try to correct an internal issue within your device, use this guide to go about it properly and safely.
